What happens to white privilege when there are no more black people?
Annex Theatre invites you to the town of Mini-Salt-Lake-in-the-North-Woods, where the local cloud factory has produced “quality clouds for over half a century.” This is a world in which the whites are immortal, where Death itself is running for high political office, and where there is always an abundance of pink cake.
“Is She Dead Yet?” updates Euripides’ tragicomedy “Alcestis”—about a young wife who sacrifices herself to save her husband from death—into an absurd exploration of American whiteness. In this adaptation, the young wife turns out to be the last black person on earth, and her sacrifice will render the planet entirely white.

Don’t miss this topical, hysterical, “white comedy”!
“…a vitally important drama for all of us at this very distressing time in American race relations…It is about the human condition, about justice and equality, about racial arrogance and insensitivity, about love and how it defines everything that matters in our individual lives…it’s the best locally written play that I’ve seen this year. Don’t let it get past you.” – Seattle Actor

A warren of abandoned bunnies in Woodland Park evolves into a dark religious cult in this gleefully unsettling tale of revenge, sacrifice, and the most transgressive love of all. A world premiere with original music, inspired by the classic Greek tragedy The Bacchae.
“‘Bunnies’… is one of the most imaginative, entertaining and surprisingly substantial new shows of the season… ‘Bunnies’ is fun and entertaining throughout, but it also has real substance and allows us to leave the theater both entertained and inspired. This show allows us to revisit a sacred temple that we have not returned to in a very long time, but that still earns its place of reverence in our modern world. It’s a great achievement.” – Seattle Actor
“Keiko Green hits this one out of the park. The musical is engaging from start to finish, taking twists and turns and challenging audience members to reflect on how they interact with the natural world. Kudos to Annex for producing a new work with a powerhouse female ensemble. Simply put, this show doesn’t have a weak link. The script, music, choreography, design elements and performances converge to create a ferocious, furry musical infused with the macabre. You won’t want to miss this gem of a production!” – Copious Love
“Just when you think you’ve nailed down the tone of local playwright Keiko Green’s fractured fairy-tale musical ‘Bunnies,’ it takes a sharp left turn, hopping from baroque mythologizing to broad satire to shock-powered black comedy. It’s not quite Beatrix Potter on acid, but Green and director Pamala Mijatov’s stark vision of corrupted innocence is rarely less than intriguing.” – Seattle Times

Caught One Handed is the shockingly true and hilariously personal story of a confused kid named Noah caught between a cross and hard place. Trigger warning: guard your heart if you react strongly to themes of exploitation or pop divas. All I’ll say is that if you’re wondering what Jesus and jockstraps have in common, buy your tickets now. Drama! Intrigue! Splashy dance breaks!
“Part frank discussion and part funny and sexy entertainment with the occasional dance break and striptease thrown in for good measure, ‘Caught One Handed’ manages a sweet and caring message from a tale of horrifying oppression.” – Broadway World
