Please join Flirty Sanchez and Bella Bijoux as they strip back the years in this two-woman burlesque show! From their first collegiate encounter to their Friday night bridge games at the senior center, these two octogenarian besties will make you laugh, cry, and squeal, “What the wha-?!” as they recount the ups and downs of life, one mammary at a time. “It’s like Golden Girls but with much less clothing.” — Someone. Somewhere. (Maybe.)
Bella and Flirty’s longstanding creative partnership has cultivated unconventional and thought-provoking theatre for a variety of audiences. They have been seen on stage together in That’s Fucked Up 3! (2012), Stripped Screw Burlesque’s Undressed to Kill (2012 & May 2013), and advocating for equality in Burlesque for Barack (2012). Independently, they do some pretty neat stuff too!
Bella Bijoux has been a highly sought after performer and producer in the Seattle burlesque scene since 2008. She has been a returning cast member of Stripped Screw Burlesque’s Disney After Dark for all three sold-out runs in Seattle, as well as the show’s tour in Olympia and Portland, and she has undressed her more philanthropic side in reProduction!, a benefit for NARAL (2011), Planned Parenthood’s fundraiser Burlesque Off Broadway (2012), and Sinner Saint Burlesque’s Very Special Feelings Show (2013). When she’s not stripteasing, Bella likes to put her sweet organizational skills to use in a behind-the-scenes fashion; she was co-producer of the Academy of Burlesque Alumni Spectaculars from 2009-2010, and was a member of the BurlyCon Programming Committee in 2011 & 2012.
As a burlesque performer and emcee, Flirty Sanchez combines her background in improv, musical comedy, and clowning with her desire to use burlesque as a means of pushing social change to create art that is as provocative as it is entertaining. From the moment she stumbled upon the burlesque stage in December 2010, Flirty has been winning over audiences across the country with her quick wit, striking vulnerability and incessant need to take chances. Notable credits include Burlesque Behind The Pink Door, That’s Fucked Up! (2012 & 2013), Windy City Burlesque Festival (2012), reProduction! (2012), guest host for Sinner Saint Burlesque, co-producer of Bootleg Burlesque, and member of the BurlyCon Programming Committee (2011 & 2012).
